Q. How much does it cost to hire through Musicalives?

A. Around the same as it would cost to hire a mid range unqualified teacher on the pay scale

Q. If it doesn’t work out then what happens?

A. Please see our sample SLA to get exacting terms and conditions but we review arrangements on a termly basis and essentially act as an agency, so there is scope to make things work for you and your school

Q. Do I have to pay extra for performances and festivals outside of school time?

A. Not necessarily, it’s good to communicate about extra work and negotiate so that no one loses out

Q. How much time will I need to spend developing the music teacher myself?

A. It is ideal if a member of SLT is the in school point of contact and takes on a role of line manager towards the music teacher that you have in your school, so that they can observe from time to time, preferably with the Director of Musicalives, and support the music teacher well. We have found that this model works best.
